Below - A photo of one of my old postcards from my collection showing the Kinghorn war memorial. The postcard was dated 1929.

Old postcards are a useful source showing how these memorials originally appeared. Today these monuments tend to be lost among modern street architecture and the parephernalia of railings, road signs and markings, advertising signs etc. Originally they stood clear, dominating the streetscape and providing a powerful focus for remembrance.
