Anne Scott 2

Some more works from Scott's 'Minstrelsy' at Smailholm Tower.

Right - 'The Daemon Lover'.

Anne Carrick clearly also drew on her grandmother Elizabeth Leith's traditions as a skilled dress maker.

Anne's love of the theatre is also reflected in her works.

Left - 'Sir Patrick Spence'

'O lang, lang may the maidens sit

With their gold combs in their hair,

All waiting for their own dear loves,

For them they'll see nae mair.'
